Senior Sam Nielsen is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Proconian. He is descended from Belgian royalty, but was brought to Chapel Hill when he was 5 years-old by his loyal butler in an attempt to escape from a political coup. He became a paperboy for the Proconian after being recruited by Mr. Head. In his free time he likes to play piano, watches netflix and plays Super Smash Bros.
Hey there, reader. I’m speaking to you in the first person. Freaky, huh? Anyways, Eli is cool, he’s the School News editor, and stuff. When he isn't at Urban Outfitters, he swims, and he seems pretty funny, which is nice. Once, we had a conversation about what happens to balloons when they get let go into the sky, once they reach the edge of the atmosphere, or whatever. If you ever meet him, ask him about it. In his spare time, Eli likes to buy fly gear from Urban Outfitters.
Senior Milly Ames is the Opinions editor of the Proconian. Her go-to party trick is touching her tongue to her nose, a skill she credits to the unusually short distance between her nose and mouth. She dedicates a fair amount of her time to frollicking in the forest with her friends. Milly is currently considering changing her name to Milli, so she and fellow staff writer Gillie (soon to be Gilli) can twin for the Insta.
Business
Forrest Pratson is a senior and the business manager in his third year with Proconian. Forrest plays lacrosse for the school team and has a spot on the famous “Rim Ticklers” basketball team. He has an extensive button collection and finds triangles especially pleasing.
Senior Jared Weber is a Co-Editor-In-Chief of Proconian, and a third-year member of the newspaper class. He was previously a staff writer during his sophomore year and the Arts and Entertainment editor for his junior year. At the age of five, Mr. Stephen Head hired Jared, a young boy from the streets of Durham, to run the Proconian paper route for 30 cents. With his honest writing and street smart personality, he worked his way to the top.
Senior Sarah Taekman is the editor for the Arts & Entertainment section of Proconian. She fills her time with competitive swimming, reading, playing with her dog and correcting people who call her by her identical twin’s name. No, her name is not Lauren--stop. Seriously. Please.
Nathan Guskiewicz is a senior in his second year in Proconian and will be editing the Sports section this year. In his free time, Nathan enjoys playing baseball and golf. He is team captain of the infamous recreation basketball team the Rim Tickers. But most of all, he enjoys #RippingIt with his #LAXBros on the field. Nathan can almost touch his toes, and his favorite word is "neat." He also doesn’t play lacrosse.
